Joseph took swim lessons for three years with you from the time he was one. We really miss you and your program. I tried the local YMCA swim lessons and was so disappointed. They just put little swim belts on them and then let them kick across the pool on the lifeguard’s belt and then practice jumping in the pool. Joseph was so much ahead of that! I spoke to the lifeguard and to the program director nothing changed. I guess next year I will try to find someone else in the Birmingham area. I wish so much that we could still come to you or you were in Birmingham!" -Tina Perry "Just wanted to say that my kids thoroughly enjoyed class this week. I am so proud of the how well they all did, especially Jaxon (my two year old) who went from crying his entire first class to jumping off the diving board today! Mr. Trevor is a wonderful instructor; he has such a kind, gentle way with the kids that works very well to get them to relax, no matter how young they are." -Marissa Rivera-Davis "I can’t believe how much I learned in 4 sessions. I was terrified of water (I’m still a little leery, but nothing like before)! I’m in my 30’s, grew up in Florida , was always at the beach, but didn’t know how to swim. My parents got me lessons a few different times in nursery and elementary school, but I was so afraid of the water and wasn’t able to learn. With lessons from The Swim Center I can now swim a little. Class 1 and 2 I was practically hyperventilating and didn’t want to let go of the wall of the pool. By class 3 I was tackling some of my fears and breathing easier. By class 4 I was able to practice on my own and didn’t feel I needed assistance. That was a big accomplishment for me. I’m by no means a fish in water, but I could probably save my life if I had too. I’ll definitely be able to have fun in the pool now. I plan to keep getting lessons so I can continue to grow as a swimmer. I’m happy to say that I was able to check this off my To Do before 40 list. I’m so pleased with the results that I look forward to maybe learning another stroke next year and even jumping in the deep end of the pool. The teachers are so great I’m hoping to talk my mom into taking classes next year and if my nephew is still living here he will definitely be enrolled. You guys are awesome! Looking forward to learning more with you in the future. I highly recommend The Swim Center." -Bridget Smith "I wanted to just let you know how much I enjoyed bringing Olivia and Ava to the Swim Center, I looked forward to it and I know the girls did too. Miss Holly~you were fantastic! I did not enjoy taking Ava to Fayetteville after the first day. The lady was forceful and really made me feel like I was the one teaching Ava (which was good in a way since I would be working with Ava on my own after lessons, but I was uncomfortable with that). Ava did seem to do well except the times the lady forced the back float on Ava and that wasn't good, but... oh well! Anyway, Ava by the second day was getting dive toys from the bottom! She loves doing that! I attribute it to the start she got with you guys, not with the instruction we received there. If we weren't moving to Douglasville, we would definitely be back!" -Holly Jury "I really wanted you to know how much I appreciated your services and what an awesome job you've done with my Mom "Ms. Bettye" in just one week. I wanted to "Thank You" and wish you much success in your business. Because of you, we will be able to enjoy our one week vacation in Mexico more with Mom learning to swim enough not to drown. Now there's no excuses that she can't ride the "Jet Skies"..." -Stephanie Wells "Back in early October, Shannon had a family weekend at camp for children with liver and kidney problems sponsored by Children's Healthcare at Eaglston where she works. Reese, Ramsey, and I were able to attend. On Sat. they had 2 hours of pool time, but in order for the children to go down the slide, which was located in the deep end, they had to swim the length of the pool without ever touching the bottom. Keep in mind this was not too long after we attended your classes for two weeks. Reese was a little shy, and decided not to try, however Ramsey wanted to go down the slide very badly. She didn't make it across the first time without touching the bottom, but she was determined and made it across the pool the second time. It wasn't a pretty sight, and it took her a while, but she would turn over and kick her legs and then get a breath, and turn right back over and use her arms. (She is the one that tries to swim with one arm, as if her other arm is paralyzed.) I was so proud of her. I think she was exhausted, but she had a blast going down the slide. I look forward to getting them some more lessons this summer, and this time we will sign up early. I just thought you might like to hear a story of success. Thanks for all that you do and the great service that you provide to the public. " -Kelly Prowant "Do you know how much you changed my life? My pastor's wife was just commenting @ watchnite svc. How I learned to swim. I know that I'm not there yet, but when I think that for over 57yrs. I was afraid of the water and you got me to dive off the diving board and actually swim from one end of the pool to the next, It's just a miracle. You can't imagine how that has changed my life. I thank God for you and your family, that are so giving of you, what a blessing. May God continue to bless you and your family. I still might try to get some privates in for 2011, don't laugh. i think that is less intimidating for me." -Peggy Dawson "My family and I just wanted to say "Thank You" for the awesome program you offer at The Swim Center. My children really grew while taking swimming lessons there. I'm excited to see how much more they will grow next summer. I would be more than happy to refer you to any and everyone I know who is interested in taking swimming lessons. Keep up the good work!! "My daughter started swimming lessons with u 2 summers ago when she was 4! (My sister in law referred us bc her daughter had taken lessons there) Kayla also came last summer for a couple of weeks and we definetly plan to sign her up again this summer. The 1st summer she started we were amazed that after 2 weeks she was swimming!! Last summer when she went to camp the camp leaders bragged about how tiny she is but how wonderful of a swimmer she is! So we are greatful to you and your staff as well!! Im very happy for you and your family and the success that teaching swimming lessons have brought you!! Your story is a great inspirational story to show us how you can turn a dream to something bigger than you could have ever dreamed of! So Congratulations Im so happy for you, see ya in the summer!" -Stephanie Lackey "We are proud to have been part of the swimming program before it grew into the Swim Center. My son went "all the way through" with you Jennifer! The skills attained garnered him a job over the summer as a Life Guard and Water Safety Expert for which he was paid well. And as for me, I gained a beautiful life long friendship with you and Jeff in the process" -Dr. Cora Gwin-Davis "Thanks for all you do for our kids. Last week, we went to Panama City Beach and were swimming in the pool at the condo. A girl about Laura’s age got in and wouldn’t let go of the side. I noticed, and so did Laura. Laura said, “Mom, I can’t believe she can’t swim at her age.” I felt so bad for the girl, and I thought of all of the time you have spent teaching my children how to swim. I am thankful they can swim well, and it is because of you. Thanks again!" -Jennifer Braun "THANKS A MILLION TOO!!! YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE ASSISTED ME IN ACCOMPLISHING THIS SUMMER! BIGGER THAN SWIMMING!!!!" -Monique Gadson "Thank you so much. I know that I already told you how impressed I was with the swim lessons, but I just wanted to tell you again! Both of my children learned so very much in a shorter time that any year that we have taken lessons else where. It was worth the drive, and we will definitely see you again next year! Thanks again for everything."-Christina Johnson "Just a quick thank you! Our girls have done so well with their swimming lessons. We have taken from 3 other places in the past and Isabella and Lily have learned so much more this year than in the past years combined. The girls have enjoyed having Mr. Tack as their teacher! And from a parent he has worked so well with them! It has only been a pleasurable experience!"-Allison Rogers "I want you to know how very grateful I am for your swim center. Audrey's improvement in the last month is a sheer miracle and could not have been possible without your commitment to enriching the lives of children while teaching them to swim. Mr. Tack, Ms. Mary, Ms. Teresa and You have made such an invaluable impression on Audrey and she has thoroughly enjoyed being in these classes and learning to swim. It's hard to believe that she wouldn't put her head under the water just a few short weeks ago. Her improvement is truly remarkable! Thank you for everything!!"-Mary Balicki "I can't tell you enough how much Sophia and Manuel have enjoyed taking classes at The Swim Center. 6 weeks ago they couldn't even dunk their head in water, now they aer jumping off the diving board and swimming to the other side of the pool by themselves. You and your staff are truly amazing. One of the best things we ever did was enroll our childrin in your school."-Tara Prados "We took three weeks of Toddler Time classes in June of '08'. The first day, our two year old, Ben, was upset, he had never intentionally put his head under water. It was easy to let Jennifer be the "bad" person who made Ben work in the water and every time she came over the crying started in earnest. She was calm yet persistent with our child. It was hard on us but we knew that Ben needed these skills for life and we felt that now was the time for him to learn them before his fears had a chance to grow. After the first few days, Ben was not crying as much. By the end of the week, he was riding on Jennifer's back while she swam under the water, and get this, he came up smiling! When Ben started his second week of class he cried the whole first day, and we wondered if we had made the right decision regarding another week of class. He was apparently just having an off day, the next day and for the rest of the week, Ben was smiling after "playing" with Jennifer. By the end of the second week, he was kicking his feet, holding his breath, grabbing the side of the pool and propelling himself along the edge of the pool to the safety of the steps. All of these things are important should he fall in water unexpectedly. By the end of week three, he was jumping off the diving board with his new instructor, Miss Mary, working on swimming to the side of the pool, using his legs, as well as, his arms now. When our first class started, I had no idea how far Ben would progress in such a short time. Thanks to Jennifer and her instructors, Ben's swimming skills have grown by leaps and bounds, he just can't get enough water time now!"-The Jacobs Family "The boys are loving swim lessons this week- that has not been the case in the past!!! They both took private lessons from Henry County YMCA and never got to the place where they would put their faces under water. This really has been great!!"-Lisa Snipes "I have wanted to tell you so many times over the last year what a blessing you have been to our family. It's so great to be able to visit pools and not have to worry about Joanna falling in...or making sure her water safety devise is in place. She spent weeks at the pool in Florida this past year while her dad was working and had a blast! I could relax and know that she could handle the water...and she spent the entire time in the deep end. She's gotten much better at treading water! Do you know how freeing that is? Thank you from all of us! And we'll see you this summer for Level 4, con't!"-Karen Pangburn "I had to share these pictures with you. I would have never believed that Craig would do this before taking swimming lessons. We were at the beach in Panam "I wanted to let you know again how much Brendan and Asheligh enjoyed swim lessons and how happy I am with what they've learned. Brendan is already excited about taking lessons next summer! They both loved their teachers. Thank you! See you next summer!"- Bonnie Carroll "I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did for my kids, all of them including TJ and Trenessa. To see Renee and Darren do so well at the last minute was a blessing all because of your hard work and their determination to do well for themselves. Well, i did have a little to do with that, i got them there |
