Class Policies
- Most sessions run M-F, 55 minutes each day, and cost $46 per week, with the exception of the water babies which run M-F, last for 30 minutes and cost $46.
- Classes are grouped based on ability not age, however you can check the class schedule to see what age children are already signed up for certain levels.
- In the event of inclement weather, class will only be cancelled if you are contacted by the instructor. Because showers come and go so frequently in the summer, class will generally only be cancelled in the event of thunder and lightning. Classes can and will still be conducted in the rain. The rule of thumb is if you are questioning the weather and you haven't heard from the instructor that means class has not been cancelled. The instructor will get in touch with you if class is cancelled. Should a class have to be cancelled, there will be a make-up class scheduled for Saturday at the convenience of the instructor. If a subsequent class has to be cancelled in the same week, a make up will be scheduled at the instructor’s discretion. If you are not able to come to the make-up class you will simply miss that instruction time. In the event we end up "swimming in the rain" or there is a chill in the air, it is recommended that you bring extra towels and hot chocolate as they may want to get out and warm up from time to time. Loose fitting sweats and a hat will help keep your swimmer warm on the way home. Please realize, you will not be able to call and see if class is cancelled because chances are the instructors are all in the water and unable to answer the phone, therefore it is imperative that if we have not contacted you, you are to come for class.
- No refunds will be given for children who are too short or uncomfortable in the water. No refunds or make-ups will be made for children who become sick or have other incidents which cause them to miss class. Should you need to reschedule or cancel with 7 days notice there will be a charge of $5. If you wish to change to a newly posted class there will not be a charge so long as the change is made 7 days before the start of the originally scheduled class. Any changes within 7 days of the class will result in a forfeit of the registration cost and a second registration will have to be made. Though there is not a make-up, if you know you will not be able to attend a class, please let your instructor know.
- Be aware that all participants will get wet and will go under water.
- A $20 fee will be charged for all returned checks.
- Class schedule is subject to change based on demand and instructor availability.
- All classes are on a first come first serve basis.
- If you wish to take more than one week, you will have to wait until the end of the first week before you can sign up for subsequent weeks. This is because an assessment of whether the level will need to be repeated cannot be determined until the completion of the first week. The only exception is if you are repeating an already passed level or if you know for certain you want to take the same level again regardless of the assessment.
- If babies are in the water, a swim diaper and/or tightly fitting rubber pants are required. Before class, please avoid giving your child oranges, apples or other foods that will likely cause accidents. If your child has had diarrhea or has been vomiting, please wait 24 hours before returning to the pool.
- Animals are not allowed in the pool area.
- Smoking is not permitted in the pool area.
- To help prevent algae, we request that you come with a clean swim suit. If you had been previously swimming in another pool or especially if you had been swimming in a lake or pond, please wash your suit prior to lessons.
- Please note the pool location as it is different from the mailing address. Often times parents arrive at the mailing address driveway only to find it locked and miss their first class. Refer to the pool location information.
- It is recommended that swimmers use a mixture of one tablespoon vinegar and one tablespoon alcohol and place a few drops in each ear after swimming to prevent swimmers ear. (Consult a doctor if you have tubes.)
- Parents please remember to keep talking to a minimum level so students will be able to hear instructions.
- Parents must supervise non-swimming children at all times. No child is to be left unattended. Nobody should be roaming around the front or sides of the house. The trampoline and swing-set are off limits to children.
- As a safety precaution, we can only permit children who are in the class session to be in the pool.
- Parents are welcome to stay during the lessons, but are not required to stay.
- When driving on the property, please respect a 5mph speed limit. This will preserve our road, cut down on the dust, and protect children. The parking lot can get rather crowded around the changing of class times. If necessary, allow your swimmer to go ahead and get out while you park the car. Please park in designated parking spots and avoid parking in the grass. Do not drive up any further than the parking lot area.
- Around the pool area, please remember to respect our property. This includes utilizing trash containers and furniture appropriately.
- If children are not cooperative they may be placed in time out. We do not want parents to withdraw students from class because of fear or misbehavior. Instructor intervention along with parental support usually remedies any problems.
- Any child who has been running a fever, vommiting, or diarahhea, must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to the pool.
- Please note that the premesis is under video surveillance for the protection of all participants.
- Finally, to register, download the permission form and mail it in along with your payment, or you can drop it by the pool any time you see on the schedule that we are open. If you are going to drop it off, please have it already sealed in an envelope as we may be in the pool when you come and unable to take it. There will be a clipboard on the table you can leave it in. Cash, check or money order only made payable to Jennifer Hill. Payment is taken in advance only to hold your spot in the class. Your check will not be deposited until the week prior to your class.
