We absolutely love the water, love swimming, love kids, love adults, and have a lot of fun! It is so rewarding to help someone learn to swim and know that you are giving someone that joy and safety. There are 2 different types of positions we have available.

Instructor Assistant- Assistants are needed in our Level 1 and babies classes, but from time to time we could use them in higher levels as well. Our assistants are usually young swimmers who are not old enough to be certified. You must be at least 14 to be considered as an assistant, have strong swimming skills in all 6 strokes, and have the desire and future plan to become a certified lifeguard and instructor, in addition, you have to like kids, A LOT!!! The pay for assistants may not be that great, but it could open the door to rewarding opportunities down the road.

 

Instructor- Instructors are required to have current Water Safety Instructor certification from the American Red Cross along with CPR- adult, child and infant. Lifeguard certification is a plus. Instructors begin working as assistants to learn the format and curriculum we use. As the instructor gets more comfortable, they will move into a supervised teaching role, then finally they will be completely on their own and responsible for all aspects of the class.
