Instructor Profile - Mrs. Renee
Hi, my name is Renee Brannon. I grew up in Clayton County and graduated from Morrow High School. Steve and I have been married for almost 15 years. In 2004, we were blessed with our daughter Amelia. She is truly a gift from God—our greatest joy!
I attended Mercer University where I pursued a degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked in the public school system for 10 years. After my daughter was born, my husband and I decided I would not return to work, but become a stay at home mom. Nothing has ever made me happier! It has been such a blessing and privilege to be present and enjoy each milestone in her life. Through
prayer, we also made the decision to become a home school family. Our home school journey began in 2009. I loved teaching, and I was so rewarded by the children I taught over the years. But, nothing compares to teaching your own child every day. It has been such a blessing.
In my free time, I am very involved with my church. I work in various
areas of our Children’s Ministry—from Sunday School to Children’s Choir. I also love to travel and am a true beach bum at heart. I am always up for an adventure!
The Swim Center was recommended to me by a family friend. After enrolling Amelia, I was amazed at how much she learned each day. Day One she didn’t want to get her face wet. By Day Three, she
loved getting in the water and was kicking across the pool. During Amelia’s lessons, I discovered there were advanced swim classes for adults. Though I already knew how to swim, I thought I could use a refresher on my strokes and an excuse to swim. I talked my sister into taking the class with me. I thought it would be lots of fun and an opportunity to exercise with no excuses. We had a blast! At the end of the week, Jennifer approached me about becoming an
instructor. Well, that was in 2008. In 2009, I taught my first swim class at The Swim Center and have been teaching swim lessons every summer since. It has been so rewarding to watch children and adults come back summer after summer to continue their swimming journey. It is so exciting to be a small part of what they continue to accomplish!
